    Who we are looking for

    We are looking for a strong hands on Senior Python and Spark Developer to modernize applications and processes in Portfolio Exposures area at State Street Global Advisors. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Applications Development, Coding and Support and be a technical subject matter expert. The candidate should be familiar with full SDLC cycle and be able to work with various cross functional teams globally.

    As AVP - Senior Python-Spark Developer, you will:

    • Develop and support applications primarily based in Python, Spark, PySpark, SQL and AWS Cloud Databases
    • Take ownership for delivery of assigned tasks
    • Co-ordinate with various cross functional teams globally including business analysts, testers, enterprise architects and infrastructure teams
    • Provide subject matter expertise
    • Work in Agile environment

    These skills will help you succeed in this role

    • Strong experience in Application Development
    • Strong experience in working with BigData
    • Strong in Python, Spark, PySpark
    • Strong in Database Design, SQL and PLSQL
    • Familiarity with Databricks platform is a plus
    • Experience in Cloud Computing specifically AWS is a plus
    • Experience with Continuous Integration and Development (CI/CD) stack
    • Familiarity with Java is a plus
    • Familiarity with Shell scripting and Job Scheduling knowledge is a plus
    • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong interest in working on new technologies and tools
    • Financial services industry experience especially in asset management is a plus

    Education & Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field is required.
    • Minimum 5+ years experience required in software development and maintenance

    Salary Range:

    $100,000 - $160,000 Annual

    The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
