Overview:

As a member of a survey crew, the Rodman position provides support for the successful completion of projects under the direction of a Party Chief.

Responsibilities:

Assist members of the assigned survey crew with various job duties such as:
Clearing brush
Carry rod from point to point for staking
Set up back site with tripod and prism
Load/unload survey equipment and supplies in trucks for daily job duties
Maintains survey supplies (nails, paint, rods, flags, etc.) for crew.
Performs survey tasks as per the direction of the Party Chief and Instrument Operator including:
Gather supplies, dig for corners, cut line, etc.
Clearing obstacles for line of sight; searching for and correctly identifying monuments
Plumbing prisms for accurate measurements
Measure by chain, tape, or other methods
Clean equipment
All other related tasks associated with field surveying

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED certification
02 years experience in land surveying
Ability to grasp basic surveying concepts.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees in the organization, both verbally and written.
Ability to follow direction from supervisor as well as other members of engineering staff and management team.
Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions and terrains on a consistent basis and for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift and carry survey equipment up to 35 lbs. on a consistent basis.
Ability to work effectively in a team
Must be dependable and reliable
