GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
To develop, implement, and maintain quality systems in order to achieve the appropriate quality levels as defined by Gichner and customer standards
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Administers the Supplier quality auditing system and is responsible for evaluation of suppliers. Maintains quality assurance surveys, on-site surveys, and vendor rating reports.
Creates and revises quality procedures and policies. Writes quality plans and assigns inspection levels based on contractual requirements. Reviews Gichner procurement specifications to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. Provides supervision and support to receiving inspection, including interpretation of specifications and performance evaluations. Administers Notice of Defective Material (NDM) system. Reviews nonconformances, determines/concurs on disposition, and analyzes trends and costs. Analyzes and implements corrective action requests, and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
Prepares monthly and quarterly cost of quality reports.
Reviews drawings for Configuration Management as needed. Acts as backup for other Quality Engineering functions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BS/BA in technical field, or equivalent experienceASQ certified Quality Engineer or equivalent experience or ASQ certified Quality Auditor or equivalent certification or experience7+ years' experience in quality engineering role - at least 2-years at a senior level .
