About the unitNICU is a 50 bed unit that provides critical care for newborns.
Unit population consists of premature infants as well as full term infants that require specialty care from our Neonatology team.
We care for infants from birth to discharge. Some infants are transferred to the unit from other hospitals.We have a large multidisciplinary team that partners with parents and provides quality Nursing and medical care to our patients.

The advanced capabilities and clinical expertise within this center have earned it Magnet designation four consecutive times and has the distinct honor of housing Michigan's first Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence.
Scope of workCoordinates aspects of patient care by managing communication and clerical tasks essential to the functioning of the unit. In addition to communication and clerical tasks, she/he monitors and stocks supplies. Provides patient care and related functions as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.
