It is an academic teaching hospital of the university hospital and serves as a modern and efficient healthcare center, providing a wide range of medical services at a high level to both inpatients and outpatients.

The Department of Internal Medicine I specializes in the treatment of neoplasms (tumors), benign blood disorders, and coagulation disorders. The department has a total of 30 beds for inpatient care.

Located in one of the oldest cities in Thuringia, the hospital is situated in one of the most beautiful and charming landscapes in the region.
