Overview

Axle is seeking a highly ambitious, adaptable, structured, and detail-oriented
Project Manager join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Vaccine Research Center (VRC).


Responsibilities

  • Maintain department consumables database, prepare routine reports, and file packing slips and other documents under the direction of the VPP Scientific Operations Manager or their delegate.
  • Prepare biohazardous waste boxes per NIH/VPP-SO standards, and transport full biohazardous waste boxes from the laboratory.
  • Operate dolly/ pallet jack in loading and unloading consumables and equipment; assist in routine maintenance or moving of laboratory equipment.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • Deliver laboratory consumable (commercial) packages, match up packing slip to NIH/VPP order requests and be able to track receipt. Must report deliver to end user and VPP Scientific Operations Manager or their delegate.
  • Aid in the processing of laboratory requests for commercially available goods (CAG) from VPP stockroom or equivalent.
  • Perform weekly verification of CAG held by VPP Scientific Operations and notify the VPP SOM or designee.
  • Aid equipment SOM or designee with equipment and service provider tasks including but not limited to delivery, install, service/repair, and surplus.
  • Aid in response to departmental requests for instrument service, under the direction of the VPP SOM or designee.
  • Perform miscellaneous jobrelated duties as assigned including but not limited to performance of property checks, monitoring VPP materials inventory levels, responding to REES alarm sensors for the laboratory, monitoring commercially available goods, biological waste removal, equipment moving, package delivery and various inventory levels, and routine safety maintenance such as but not limited to Biological Safety Cabinet cleaning and routine eye wash maintenance.

Experience Required / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 4 years of logístical experience is preferred
