Patient Access Representative is responsible for a variety of duties necessary to register and pre-register patients, ensure eligibility, verify insurance, issue Advanced Beneficiary Notices and order ancillary testing.

The duties performed will illustrate what is best for the patients as well as the development of an awareness and cooperation reflecting the interrelationship of departments in caring, comforting and healing the sick and injured.

Full time, 9:
30am-6pm or 11am-7:
30pm with rotating weekends and holidays._**
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Register and Pre-Register patients while maintaining productivity, accuracy, and quality standards.
  • Explain the registration process to patients, anticipates and answers patients 'questions.
  • Ensures that accurate and complete data is entered.
  • Ensure that financial protocols and requirements are met.
  • Completes the notification of admission for ER admissions.
  • Performs POS collections as required by the individual insurance plan.
  • Seeks assistance from financial counselors when needed to maintain patient flow.
  • Schedules single and recurring outpatient ancillary and clinic appointments.
  • Maintains and updates provider schedules.
  • Screens referrals and physician orders to make sure they meet medical necessity for the individual provider.
  • Schedule out to ensure ample time to obtain authorizations.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or G.E.D required.
  • Previous registration or related experience preferred.
  • A basic understanding of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Customer service oriented and detail focused.
