    WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW Assist with the planning and implementation of community service or program strategic goals and objectives. Provide services to a small or specific population of clients or users where program impacts localized functions. Supervise the work assignment and performance of staff and volunteers. Develop and manage department budget, and conduct trainings/presentations to promote Red Cross services and programs to community. Represent the Red Cross and promote services and programs to the communities. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

    Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

    WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD

    1: Establish and implement program/service goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Implement and coordinate the day-to-day functions that support the assigned program or service. Oversee community services database systems to ensure accuracy and integrity of data. Manage risk by reviewing, updating and implementing community services methods, policies and procedures. Monitor program outcomes and results to reinforce organizational accountability.

    2: Hire, train, coach, counsel and evaluate performance of direct reports and volunteers. Develop and set individual and departmental team goals and manage/drive change.

    3: Develop, direct and coordinate financial and budget activities to fund operations and maximize efficiency. Identify possible funding sources, such as government agencies and philanthropic foundations/organizations, for program or service initiatives.

    4: Allocate and direct resources, including assigning work, to deliver program or service effectively and efficiently. Evaluate and report effectiveness of program or service and prepare recommendations for continuous improvement.

    5: Develop and conduct trainings/presentations to promote Red Cross services and programs to community.

    6: Develop and cultivate professional relationships with key internal & external partners/organizations. Attend community meetings and events to facilitate exchange of information and resources.

    7: May provide analysis, advice and consultation on program or service. May perform directly-related operational tasks or service/program delivery as an individual contributor as needed.

    Scope:
    Direct daily operations of work unit.

    Pay Information:
    The salary range for this position is (CA): $66,616 - $67,948.

    Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed.

    Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.



    Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

    Education: Bachelor's degree required.

    Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

    Management Experience: 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.

    Skills & Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Develop strategies to achieve organizational goals. Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills to develop creative processes for continuous program or service improvements. Intermediate proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiarity with federal, state and local employment laws. Ability to work on a team.

    Travel: Travel may be required. A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required.


    • Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear.

    The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic).

    The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
