JOB SUMMARY:


  • NORC at the University of Chicago is seeking a Regular, Full Time Research Associate I to join The Bridge in our Chicago
  • Hyde Park office. The Research Associate would work on a variety of challenging, interesting, innovative multiyear data collection and analysis projects, with a focus on the operational side of survey data collection projects. The Research Associate is responsible for supporting small and largescale survey data collections, technical assistance, and evaluation projects for a variety of clients. The role requires interest and/or experience in operational methods, including project design, data collection procedures, project management, and data management and processing. Strong problem solving and people skills are required.
  • Applicants will be based in our Chicago, IL Hyde Park office on the University of Chicago campus, with a hybrid office/work from home schedule._

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Prepare survey contact materials; contribute to methodological and production reports; and write detailed training and reference documents
  • Develop survey instrument specifications and test survey systems
  • Monitor data collection productivity and quality through development of basic quantitative reports and ad hoc analyses, including summary tables, graphs, and text
  • Plan and provide support for trainings of interviewers and other production support staff
  • Support data analysis and products
  • Organize project meetings and take minutes
  • Work in teams to problem solve various data collection process issues
  • Serve as interdepartmental liaison between the functional groups of Survey Operations, Information Technology, the Field and/or Production Centers
  • Contribute to department or project social media (strategies, content creation, analytics)
  • Execute other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • Bachelors' degree in the social sciences or related field
  • Background in survey research preferred
  • Knowledge of data collection and data flow processes
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

The pay range for this position is $55,000 - $62,000.

This position is classified as regular. Regular staff are eligible for NORC's comprehensive benefits program.
