Laboratory Technical Specialist, UHS Wilson Medical Center

United Health Services is seeking a Laboratory Technical Specialist to join our WMC Core Lab Services department at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY.

This position is benefits eligible.

$ $53.94 per hour, depending on experience.

Overview

The Laboratory Technical Specialist has direct responsibilities for the technical operations of their section at both Wilson Medical Center and Binghamton General Hospital.

Oversees and coordinates the daily technical activities of his/her respective section, and when necessary, functions as a technologist.

The Technical Specialists is the technical expert of the section and works under the direction of the Core Laboratory Manager, the Administrative Director, and the Medical Director.

All duties are performed in a timely manner according to UHS's Laboratory and Departmental Policies and Procedures, New York State Department of Health Regulations, CAP, and CDC Blood and Body Fluids Procedures, and Infection Control Policies.

Priority is given to STAT testing and to tests that require immediate processing.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or equivalent (Grandfathered NYS Licensed CLT)
Six (6) years of clinical laboratory experience, three (3) years of experience in specialty area
Preferred:
Specialty certification in specialty area

License/Certification

Minimum Required:
NYS Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Preferred:
ASCP Specialty Certification
