About Us

The Central California Two Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Asexual, and

other identity persons (2SLGBTQIA+) Collaborative is a collective dedicated to Education,

Advocacy, and Training for the inclusion of ALL. Our programs build resilient networks of

friends, family, caregivers, and volunteers; increase access to 2SLGBTQIA+ welcoming service

providers; and promote health, wellness, and early access to care. These programs help build

the social connections, opportunities for civic engagement, and personal empowerment that

ensure community inclusion for 2SLGBTQIA+ persons.

About The Position

As the Program Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the LGBTQ+ Collaborative's

mission by supporting educational and advocacy programs and to advance equality, inclusivity,

and social justice initiatives. Reporting to the Education and Generational Advocacy Director,

you will collaborate closely with various departments, including Communications, Health,

Education, and Operations, to drive impactful outcomes. This role requires a deep

understanding of the unique challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community and a passion for

driving positive change.


Responsibilities:


  • Work with the Communications, Health, and Education Directors to develop and
execute social media assets and campaign deliverables for the California Children and

Youth Behavioral Health Initiative Grant.

  • Keep a pulse on the youth queer community to ensure campaign messaging resonates
with the target audience and addresses their unique needs and challenges. Develop

grant proposals in collaboration with team members, ensuring alignment with

organizational goals and priorities.

  • Build community health literacy by developing and disseminating culturally responsive
and linguistically appropriate health literacy assets aimed at youth and parents.

  • Coordinate project logistics, including scheduling meetings, managing timelines, and
tracking project milestones to ensure timely completion and delivery of project goals.

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and
communication across departments to achieve shared objectives.

  • Work closely with project teams to develop detailed project plans, timelines, and

  • Monitor project plans, identify potential risks or issues, and implement corrective
actions as needed.

  • Assist in other responsibilities with the Education and Generational Advocacy
department, such as tabling events, training, or GSA visits on school sights.

  • Occasionally perform research and other necessary functions for the development of
training or other outreach materials.

  • Delivery presentations, trainings, and other public speaking engagements across all
seven counties.

Location

  • Fulltime exempt position with flexible work environment which allows for amazing
work/life balance.

  • Located primarily at 1202 H St, Suite D in Modesto but travel to Collaborative offices
and projects in Merced, Madera, Calaveras, Mariposa, Amador, and Tuolumne required.

  • Personal vehicle use may be required for travel to and from events, local or state
meetings.

  • Experience working with 2SLGBTQIA+ populations and a familiarity with issues of relevance
to the diversity of identities within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

  • Skill and temperament to provide and open climate and create opportunities for strong
collaborations, cross cultural communication, and department interaction.

  • Skill to work independently and ability to be inventive and creative, including but not
limited to initiating new programs, conceptualizing, organizing, and implementing

change.

  • Ability to foresee needed change, set realistic goals and objectives, organize resources,
and schedule the efforts of others to achieve goals.

  • Intermediate computer literacy skills required.
  • Excellent English writing/editing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Strong time management skills.

The Program Assistant may be asked to perform other duties as required or assigned which are
