Description
The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is looking for qualified applicants for assistant or associate professor full-time tenure-stream faculty in the Acute and Tertiary Care department.Faculty members are employees of the University and receive dedicated time and resources to perform scholarly work, travel to present their work at professional conferences, develop excellence in educational approaches, and opportunities to pursue specialty certification and faculty practice. Faculty promotion opportunities are available for all ranks. Qualifications for these tenure stream (TS) faculty positions include an earned doctorate (Ph.D.) and RN licensure in Pennsylvania. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Assistant Professor - A) An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field is required. B) Evidence of potential to produce scholarly work. C) Evidence of or potential for excellence in clinical and/or classroom teaching. D) Demonstrated expertise in the area of nursing or expertise in a related substantive area.
Associate Professor - A) An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field. B) Expertise recognized at the national/international level. C) Evidence of excellence as a teacher. D) Evidence of sustained scholarly productivity as indicated by publications, grants, or any other validating material.
Desired Qualifications:
Program of research in acute or chronic illness populations, policy, or health services preferred. Faculty candidates should demonstrate their research success or the potential for significant accomplishments in their areas of interest.
