Position Summary:

This position is responsible for reviewing customer demand daily and creating, updating, and closing corresponding job orders in the ERP system.

Also responsible for the daily creation and maintenance of production schedules to ensure on-time delivery to our customers.

This position will also serve as a support to the inventory control team to help ensure a high level of inventory accuracy.

No direct reports


Essential Functions:


  • Review customer demand daily through the PRP module in the ERP system
  • Create, update and close jobs according to customer demand. Jobs should be current and accurate in the ERP system.
  • Manage inventory levels of stocking programs for approved customers
  • Provide daily updates to Production and Customer Service on any delays or issues that will affect a committed ship date
  • Create and maintain production schedules in a timely manner
  • Quickly and effectively communicate production issues to your Supervisor
  • Assist in managing the inventory in WIP Markets to ensure a high level of inventory accuracy
  • Work effectively with the purchasing team to ensure timelines from outside services are met
  • Review item masters on a daily basis to ensure routing and material accuracy
  • Create customer recovery plans as needed in a concise, databased format and ensure execution
  • Take complete ownership of an assigned value stream and meet the company goal for ontime delivery
  • Monitor inventory discrepancies and productivity issues and make recommendations for improvement
  • Analyze job variances to determine root cause and work with the appropriate department(s) to correct
  • Assist the inventory team with cycle counts, physical inventory, etc. to achieve the company goal for IRA

Qualifications:


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years in a planning role in a manufacturing environment (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of manufacturing, inventory, and planning practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Some knowledge of machine operations or technical background (preferred)
  • Experience with ERP systems (required)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong math skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (required)
  • Committed to follow up / follow through with projects and daily tasks, able to effectively multitask
  • Able to collect data in a factbased manner and present it in a meaningful way
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Commitment to meeting timelines and achieving a high level of customer satisfaction

Other Job-Related Demands:


  • Flexibility to alter work schedule based on job demands or the timely completion of projects
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 35lbs. without assistance and occasionally up to 50lbs following company safe lifting protocol
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in an environment with powdered metal, dust, noise, oils and chemicals
