Construction Field Service Technician to join our team in Austin, TX.

This position reports to the
Construction Field Service Supervisor. This role is
onsite and is based in
Austin, TX.

Field Services Technician Essential Duties:


  • Comply with prescribed safety procedures or regulations; includes understanding of safety equipment requirements and proper use and care of PPE.
  • Practice safety awareness by thinking defensively, anticipating unsafe situations, and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Drive trucks or other heavy equipment to complete work assignments.
  • Operate machines or equipment to remove, package, store, or transport loads of hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
  • Load or unload materials into containers or onto trucks by hand or using equipment.
  • Organize or track the locations of hazardous items at job sites or in warehouses.
  • Examine and properly segregate cargo or materials.
  • Remove or limit contamination following emergencies involving hazardous substances.
  • Sort specialized hazardous waste following proper handling procedures.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in all areas.
  • Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner to customers, suppliers, regulators, and the public.
  • Carry out daily job tasks assigned by Lead.
  • Perform other tasks as needed in the best interest of the company.

Working Conditions:

Warehousing and field environment with local and out of town travel on roads and highways during all weather conditions. Frequent customer job site visitation in great variety of industry types and levels of sanitation and cleanliness. May be exposed to a noisy environment or heavy and noisy industrial equipment when doing his/her tasks daily. Exposure to hazardous chemicals and waste.

Use of personal protective equipment is often required, and proper use and maintenance of the required PPE is mandatory for all employees.


Education and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must complete and maintain OSHA HAZWOPER 40hour training; may be required to complete and maintain Confined Space Entry & Rescue certification.
  • Current driver's license with clean driving record and insurable in accordance with Company's current auto insurance carrier preferred.
  • One (1) + year(s) experience with remediation or construction preferred.

Field Services Technician Skills:


  • Uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Above average comprehension skills to understand instructions and safety rules both verbal and written.
  • Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problemsolving and decisionmaking.
  • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. This is not solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  • The ability to generate or use different sets of rules for combining or grouping things in different ways.
  • The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken or written words and sentences.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
