- Oversee day to day duties and needs for a team of drainage professionals
- Recruit and train new drainage employees
- Set expectations and policies for drainage team
- Monitor productivity and professional development and provide feedback to improve performance
- Provide input and recommendations for promotions and salary adjustments
- Develop project work plans and scopes of work
- Provide project oversight and monitor scope, schedule, and budget for drainage tasks
- Assist to prepare fee proposals and track and manage drainage discipline budgets
- Manage the design and analysis of roadway and regional flood control facilities
- Manage the preparation of studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects
- Support project managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and sub-consultant coordination related to drainage tasks
- Interface with clients including state and local agencies
- Coordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholders
- Coordinate with office management and project managers to share and allocate resources
- Assist in proposal preparation including oral presentations. Also prepare the drainage scope, schedule, and budget for new projects
- Work within a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of project drainage tasks
- Take ownership of all project drainage tasks from start to finish
- Team leadership/management skills
- Experience and relationships with transportation and flood control agencies
- Knowledge and experience with Bentley Open Roads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, 2D Modeling, and other applicable software
- Expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic software
- DOT, AASHTO, and FHWA highway drainage design criteria and guidelines
- Solid organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members
- Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices
- Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited program in civil engineering
- Experience and understanding of local, regional, state, and federal criteria
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required
- Minimum 10 years of hydraulics design experience
- Experience in managing technical staff and project teams
- Ability to manage several projects concurrently
