    SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER with Security Clearance - naval air station oceana, United States - Department of the Navy

    Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER in the FORCE PROTECTION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL AIR STATION OCEANA SECURITY DETA.

    Duties * You will Identify law enforcement employee development needs to verify performance goals are met. * You will create work schedules for police officers to maintain adequate coverage at all times. * You will counsel employees on police work and administrative matters. * You will assign work to law enforcement employees based on priorities and individual capabilities. * You will recommend promotions, reassignments, training, awards, or disciplinary actions for law enforcement staff. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Must be a US Citizen. * Must be determined suitable for federal employment. * Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

    * New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

    This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. * You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. * You are required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. * Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required.

    A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test.

    You will be subject to random testing.

    * This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.

    You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

    * Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics.

    You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR * Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment.

    Employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement (CSA) prior to travel to the academy.

    * Employee must successfully pass an initial, annual, or any required OPM, DoD, or Department of theNavy mental and emotional stability screening, physical ability test, and physical fitness for duty test.

    * You will be required to be CPR certified and utilize a portable heart defibrillator where available. * You will be required to successfully complete the mandated 40-hour Emergency Vehicle Operators Course(EVOC).

    Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing guidance on law enforcement and security policies and procedures; 2) Interviewing witnesses to crimes, accidents, or security breaches to determine facts, warrant apprehension, detention, or lesser action; 3) Resolving law enforcement issues; 4) Conducting searches to compile evidence of crime/accident scenes; 5) Reviewing reports for accuracy, discrepancies, and areas of concern

    PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
