Description

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for initiating and performing activities that support environmental health and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role involves managing facility EHS processes to protect employees, the company, and the environment while maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.

Primary Role & Responsibilities

Production Floor Activities (80%):
Coach, audit, and train employees in safe behavioral practices.
Conduct safety, orientation, and environmental training sessions.
Develop and enhance training programs to raise employee awareness and enable safe work practices for both employees and supervisors.
Conduct and monitor incident reporting and investigations.
Inspect the facility to identify existing or potential hazards and recommend corrective or preventive measures to mitigate risks.
Administrative Activities (20%):
Ensure reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.
Analyze and update policies, procedures, and plans in accordance with governmental and company guidelines.
Promote a safe working environment and increase safety awareness.
Develop and coordinate loss prevention training (Safety, Health & Hygiene) for the entire facility.
Identify, monitor, evaluate, and track all EHS activities through audits, statistical analysis, and computerized record keeping.
Establish and maintain effective communication within the organization and foster strong working relationships with the employee safety committee, department managers, and employees.
Continually improve, evaluate, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to protect employees and comply with regulations.
Generate necessary reports and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory record-keeping requirements and internal standards.
Manage EHS record-keeping requirements, preparing and organizing EHS files for audits.
Collaborate with plant operations to develop sustainable EHS programs and processes.
Undertake other assigned projects as needed.
