ROLE
We are looking for an Entry-Level Project Specialist to give support to the U.S. Merit Services Protection Board (MSBP)— a federal agency dedicated to safeguarding Federal merit systems against partisan political and other banned personnel practices, as well as ensuring sufficient protection for federal employees against abuses by agency management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Receptionist — Responsibe for answering incoming telephone calls, determining the nature of business, and directing calls to the appropriate staff

Visitor Management — Welcoming and guiding visitors, understanding the nature of their visit, and escorting them to the right staff members

Mail Management — Supporting with the receipt and distribution of incoming mail

Filing — Organizing and filing paper files, indexes, and documents

Data Entry — Performing data entry and typing tasks

Office Technology — Utilizing office equipment such as computers, fax machines, copiers, scanners, and mail equipment

Calendar Management — Scheduling telephone conferences, in-person meetings, and video hearings

Case Processing Inquires — Initiating inquiries regarding case processing

Judicial Inquiries — Addressing appeal inquiries on behalf of the Administrative Judge (AJ) of the office

Customer Service — Responding to inquiries from the public, appellants, etc. about potential, pending, and past appeals, as well as procedures

EDUCATION
  • Preference for Bachelor's degree

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Preference for 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong preference for some legal experience
  • Basic understanding of commonly used legal concepts, practices, and procedures

  • No — Work conducted on-site

  • U.S. citizenship required as this position supports the U.S. federal government
