Job Overview:_

We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Commercial Security Officer to join our team. We are hiring 1) SECURITY OFFICERS (20.00/hr) and 2) SPECIAL POLICE OFFICERS (22.00/hr) for commercial assignments in Washington, DC.

These sites are commercial, not residential - but are not office buildings. They are primarily non-retail businesses with a high volume of public traffic.

Security Officers are expected to be able to observe the site for safety conditions, respond to security related incidents, and mitigate loss as appropriate.

Special Police Officers, in addition to the foregoing, will be expected to take certain enforcement action, where required.

All protective services positions are critical roles that requires excellent observation skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to handle potentially challenging situations with professionalism.

Duties as a Security Officer_:

• Patrol assigned areas to ensure the safety and security of the premises
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems
• Enforce access control procedures, if any
• Respond to emergencies and incidents, including conducting investigations when necessary
• Provide excellent customer service to clients, visitors, and employees
• Collaborate with local law enforcement/fire agencies when needed
• Complete detailed reports of incidents, accidents, or suspicious activities
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential security risks
• Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft or damage

Qualifications_:

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military is preferred
• Knowledge of CCTV systems and other security equipment
• Strong conflict management and problemsolving skills
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus (must be obtained within 30 days)
• Certification in OC, Baton, and Handcuffing (will be provided if not already certified)
• Ability to remain calm and composed in highpressure situations
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in surveillance techniques and procedures
• Must have or be able to obtain either a 1) DC Security Officer license or 2) DC Special Police Officer commission.
