Fast paced growing modern ENT practice is seeking an experienced receptionist/administrative assistant for our front desk who is a self-starter, eager and can work independently as well as within the team to support practice operations in this full-time role.
Responsibilities:
- Provides front line contact by answering telephones, directing and responding to callers, relaying messages to appropriate recipients and greeting patients and visitors with the highest level of customer service
- Provides clerical and administrative support to physicians and is a liaison between departments.
- Helps direct patients to appropriate setting and facilitates patient flow.
- Scheduling appointments and have a working knowledge of providers, understanding systems, processes, and services rendered.
- Ensures patients are prepared for their appointment by informing the caller of items to bring to their appointment and of the appropriate practice policies.
- Possesses an understanding of when to escalate calls to a supervisor.
- Answers the telephone promptly and in a polite and professional manner to meet office and customer service standard of excellence.
- Check patients in or out, collect copays, scan insurance cards and ensure other required documents are reviewed and signed.
- May schedule testing according to office guidelines and patient's needs.
- May schedule and confirm testing, surgeries, and procedures according to office guidelines.
- Ensures all documents are maintained in the electronic medical record; scanning op reports, test results, home care and any other forms.
- May enter auto faxes received from Pharmacies for medication requests via telephone encounters into the electronic medical record (EMR) system through the use of the appropriate Smart Text.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in a physician practice setting in an administrative support role.
- High comfort level with direct patient interaction.
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
- Must have the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding problemsolving and organizational abilities.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; required
- Some college; preferred
Pay:
$ $28.00 per hour
