- Analyze specification charts, samples, and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of the requirements
- Develop a plan of action to manufacture components according to specifications
- Measure and mark raw materials needed to manufacture required components
- Set up equipment required to complete each step of the manufacturing plan
- Operate equipment to carry out each step correctly
- Monitor the production process and intervene when necessary
- Inspect finished components for defects
- Maintain equipment required to carry out duties
- Follow prescribed safety regulation and equipment lock-out/tag-out procedures
- Comply with Global Harmonized System (GHS), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and hazardous waste labeling requirements
- Execute proper spill response procedures
- Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors
- Work in a safe and conscientious manner
- Assist other employees in the performance of their duties as necessary
- Perform all other job duties as assigned by supervisor
- Familiar with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software and machinery used for computer-aided manufacturing
- Ability to operate grinders, lathes, and milling machines
- Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations
- Oral and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision and as a team member
- Read and speak English
- Experience in structural steel operations (preferred)
- High School Diploma (preferred)

Canam Bridges is a member of Canam Group, which has over 3,500 employees and operates 11 plants in North America, as well as engineering offices in Canada, Romania, India and the Philippines.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Routine exposure to steel fabrication environment and occasional outside weather conditions, excessive noise levels and is regularly exposed to vibration. Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes, vapors, or airborne particles. Occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
