We are fully licensed and certified in early childhood education with a commitment to providing loving care for babies, toddlers and preschool children.

Our programs provide safe classroom environments, highly qualified teachers, and engaging lessons to help children improve their social skills, motor skills, and self-confidence.- The After-School Counselor is responsible for working cooperatively with the after-school program staff to support the learning environment, support and encourage children in their daily activities and routines, promote their growth and development, and strengthen their confidence and self-esteem.


Qualifications:


  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with schoolaged children preferred
  • Completion of 8h Pre-Service training, followed by 16h Preservice training
by the end of 90-day probationary period

  • CPR, First Aid and Water Safety certified

Responsibilities & Duties:


  • Meet and greet children by name, friendly and respectfully
  • Perform disinfecting & hygiene steps as posted
  • Always supervise children, requiring a designated floater to release needed breaks
  • Supervise children during restroom breaks, naptime (if applicable), during transitions, and during arrival/departure
  • Limit the use of cell phones to a minimum or in case of emergency, require a floater to supervise the room to answer call
  • Create lesson plans with developmentally appropriate practices for your age group and post them weekly or biweekly
  • Provide Program Coordinator with supply list necessary to perform lesson plans by Thursday or week prior and be able to accommodate your needs with general school budget
  • Always engage with children, encouraging and facilitating their learning
  • Keep track of supplies needed for the room
  • Provide a daily individual report to parents
  • Keep accurate count of children and relay that information at any requested time, ensuring ratios are maintained
  • Be familiar with Child Care Regulation Minimum Standards and Accreditation Criteria for Texas Rising Star
  • Flexibility to adapt to the general needs of the After School Program daily
  • Encourage and support children during scheduled activities for the day, such as mealtimes, homework time, active and quiet play
  • Meet with parents and discuss children information in a professional manner
  • Stay with children at pickup times if parents are running late a fee of $1 per minute late might be charged and should be paid in cash by the parent to the teacher in charge

Monday-Friday, 2-6pm

Additional 8-hour shifts as needed during Summer and Spring Break
