    Ibotta is looking for an

    Engineering Manager, Machine Learning Platform

    to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding.

    This leader will build and lead our growing Machine Learning Engineering Platform Team and will additionally be responsible for the team's vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution.

    This includes the platform, libraries and tooling, and standards focused on accelerating the growth of Ibotta's world-class ML capabilities .

    The ideal candidate will be an experienced, collaborative and inspiring servant leader with a track record of attracting, recruiting, developing and retaining top talent.

    This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office. The specified high value hybrid days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Candidates must live in the United States.

    What you will be doing:


    Design and develop systems that support the creation of large scale, big-data driven, machine learning models integrated into our product.


    Some examples of potential projects include:
    Building/scaling MLOps infrastructure to help streamline the development, evaluation, deployment, and re-usability of core ML features and services.

    Building, creating, and iterating on core reusability components for feature engineering, model development, model deployment, and more.

    Enabling other members of the data science and analytics community with tools, processes, and standards.

    Leverage engineering methods and best practices to deliver well-defined, tested, documented, and code-reviewed software products.

    Be a change agent and drive scale through democratization of machine learning while creating a culture of efficient, self-service consumption

    Drive an organizational culture around excellence in machine learning product development

    Actively coach and mentor team members in their careers

    Be a reliable servant leader and decision maker

    What we are looking for:
    2+ years of engineering management experience with a proven ability to build empowered, high-performing teams and lead complex technical initiatives to successful outcomes

    5+ years of experience as a software engineer or related data experience (inclusive of Agile and DevOps experience)

    Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, analytics, or related field required

    Understanding of multiple languages and frameworks as either an engineer or manager including Python, SQL, Spark, and Airflow

    Robust experience in an MLOps/DevOps environment working with Airflow, Terraform, and Docker

    Experience leading teams building self-service ML platforms with experience in MLOps

    Knowledge in building, supporting, and maintaining machine learning products encapsulating Large Language Models and platforms is a strong plus

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Understands and has practiced agile software development and management

    Comfortable managing team members with different skill sets and technical areas of focus and expertise

    Exposure to cloud-based data architecture such as Databricks (preferred)

    Additional Details:


    This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match, and equity.

    Denver office perks include paid parking, bagel Thursdays, snacks and occasional meals.

    Base compensation range:
    $147,000 - $191,000. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary.
