Job Summary


The Client Service Coordinator is the first point of contact for inpatient and outpatient wound and ostomy services at CHOC.


Has reception and clinical responsibilities including:

receiving and completing intake of new referrals, scheduling patients, obtaining, tracking and documenting authorizations for patient care services from health plans/payers, registration, verification of eligibility and benefits, care coordination and assisting with patient care under the direction of the SWOT clinicians.

Pay Range


Minimum $28.90 Midpoint $38.27 Maximum $47.6- Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

  • Required: Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a clinic or hospital setting.
  • Preferred: Two (2) or more years of experience working in a clinic or hospital setting.
Education

  • Required: Graduation from an accredited licensed vocational nursing program.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree or higher in related healthcare field.
Training

  • Required: Experience with authorization and scheduling process, knowledge of health plans (PPO, HMO, POS), Medi-Cal, CCS).
  • Preferred: Prefers certification in utilization review.
Specialized Skills

  • Required: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, work effectively in a highvolume work environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in interactions with providers, payers, and patients/families. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate with third party payers to obtain authorization. Must be proficient in required competencies upon completion of orientation and maintain annual departmental competency requirements. Working knowledge of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Products).
  • Preferred: Experience with electronic medical record. Bilingual (reading & writing) in English and Spanish. Knowledge of CCS/Medi-Cal regulations and requirements.
Licensure

  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS); Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
  • CA.

Work Environments - Functional Demand:
Light - Moderate energy level Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).


Physical Activity Requirements:
