We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Director of STEM/CTE.


Position Overview:


As the Director of STEM/CTE, you will play a pivotal role in providing leadership and support to Concept's network of 34 schools across 8 states.

Your responsibilities will include curriculum development, assessment implementation, resource optimization, policy communication, collaboration with content directors, and providing professional development opportunities for STEM/CTE teachers.

Travel is required for the position and may constitute up to 25% of the total time with being heavier at times such as the beginning of the school year.

This position reports directly to the Chief Academic Officer.


Primary Role and Purpose:


The Director collaborates with colleagues from various departments, school administrators, and teaching staff to fulfill assigned tasks and responsibilities, ultimately contributing to the achievement of Concept Schools' goals.


Responsibilities:


CTE:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive CTE curriculum that aligns with Concept Schools' vision and objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with content directors to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to teaching CTE.
  • Provide guidance and support to CTE teachers in delivering effective instruction.
  • Facilitate professional development programs, conferences, workshops, and Concept Events for CTE teachers.
  • Identify and optimize resources to help school communities achieve specific benchmark goals in CTE.
  • Make informed decisions on instructional supplies, textbooks, and equipment, managing inventory and records effectively.
  • Develop and maintain the departmental website and/or Social Media accounts to facilitate communication and resource sharing.
  • Create assessments and analyze assessment data to provide recommendations for reteaching and improvement.

STEM:

  • Collaborate with Directors of Math, Science, and Technology in order to improve techniques of STEM instruction and to improve overall student achievement.
  • Work in conjunction with other departments to facilitate and support STEM development and implementation across all departments.
  • Coordinate the creation of STEM pathways and opportunities for students in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
  • Communicate, evaluate and monitor the progress of STEM certification requirements in all schools.
  • Coordinate and provide ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators in the STEM education, including workshops, seminars, and training sessions.
  • Support the implementation of evidencebased instructional practices and strategies to enhance teaching and learning in STEM
  • Design and implement assessment tools and measures to evaluate student learning outcomes and STEM program effectiveness

Common:

  • Analyze instructional practices, systems, and controls in Concept Schools, recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Communicate policies, practices, and procedures related to STEM/CTE education to school leaders and teachers.
  • Collaborate with school administrators and district leadership to allocate resources effectively to support STEM and CTE programs, including instructional materials, technology, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with faculty to establish program priorities and departmental vision.
  • Utilize data effectively to inform instructional decisionmaking and support student achievement.
  • Conduct school site visits, observe teacher performance, and hold online meetings with school leaders and department heads.
  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with local businesses, industries, higher education institutions, and community organizations to enhance opportunities for student internships, mentorships, and realworld experiences in STEM and CTE fields.
  • Engage parents, families, and community stakeholders in supporting and promoting STEM and CTE education initiatives within the network.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field (Bachelor's degree considered based on experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a STEM/CTE teacher and administrator.
