What are your main tasks?

  • This position is responsible program managing all key purchasing deliverable for launching new programs and reports directly to the Senior Manager for New Program and Acquisition.
  • Work with the Regional Category Buyers to establish groups of suppliers for quotation
  • Act as the purchasing key contact and interface with the program team to ensure the all requests and timelines are met
  • Align with our Global Category Managers on quality, cost, delivery, and escalated supplier issues
  • Lead negotiations with key suppliers
  • Send requests for quotation, analyze, compare, recommend final sourcing, and present final sourcing at either Regional or International Table. In this forum, you will be expected to speak to all aspects of the sourcing process.
  • Onsite supplier visits with Supplier Quality, Engineering, and other key stakeholders
  • Work with the Costing team to establish pricing for the pursuit of new business
What are your qualifications?

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • 2+ years of experience on a Purchasing or Supply Chain Management team
  • Experience in automotive/commercial vehicle commodities and components
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Track record of leading savings initiative through negotiation
  • Data driven individual
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word experience required, including the ability to create and manage advanced spreadsheets
  • Project management and Supplier Quality experience
  • Experience with SAP preferred
  • Knowledge in all aspects of cost and cost breakdowns Experience working with large diverse teams
