Description

The training to become a nursing professional is a merging of the three nursing professions (geriatric care, health and nursing care, and pediatric nursing) into one new nursing profession, as part of the new Nursing Professions Act.

Nursing professionals provide care and support to individuals in all areas of nursing. They carry out medically prescribed measures, assist with examinations, document patient data, and contribute to quality assurance. Nursing professionals will also be increasingly involved in training, guidance, and counseling.

This includes supporting family members and families in situations of health instability, impaired development and autonomy, and highly stressful and critical life situations.

The nursing professional is a nationally regulated training program. The three-year program includes a practical training component of 2500 hours and theoretical and practical instruction of 2100 hours.

Locations:
For practical training, we offer the opportunity for personal focus. This is carried out in our various facilities by specially trained practice instructors. Practical training can be completed in general acute care or general long-term care.

Practical training paths can also be chosen in the areas of home care, pediatrics, general acute psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, or gerontopsychiatry.

The focus of practical training and other required placements, as outlined in the training regulations, will be determined together in a pre-discussion.

School:

The accompanying instruction takes place in block form (Monday to Friday) at our central school for health professions in Muenster.
