Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow proper safety procedures, lockout and tagout procedures.
  • Effectively remove and install mold and trim.
  • Obtain, understand, and comply with product specifications and requirements.
  • Remove mold, trim, and auxiliary equipment from press, set next mold and trim tooling, locate and fasten-on press, set ejection stroke, set, and adjust to prescribed stroke, change piping as required.
  • Set and adjust machine controls. Set up and prepare auxiliary equipment. Check operation of press.
  • Operate under detailed instructions and specifications but exhibit considerable ingenuity to improvise and adapt as needed. (The need to improvise and adapt is not a license to take shortcuts, by-pass procedures, make unsafe repairs, or make temporary repairs permanent. See your supervisor when you have any questions or concerns.)
  • May instruct trainees who assist him/her in mold and equipment changes and set ups.
  • Feed sheets start and stop equipment as needed for process and machine testing.
  • Effectively set and adjust machine controls, in both manual and automatic mode.
  • Ensure required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Ensure downtime codes are input on time and are accurate.
  • Visually inspect the tooling for anomalies or wear and report such to the Thermoforming Manager or Lead Setup Technician.
  • Responsible for the quality, quantity, and timeliness of all assigned work and duties.
  • Perform intermediate tooling repairs using standard hand and machine shop tools, as needed.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform post setup/changeover process testing at 100% standard speed with 90% in-spec product and 90% process stability. (Exceptions due to tooling or equipment must be documented and corrected per current plant policy.)

Pay:
$ $33.00 per hour

Experience:


  • Thermoforming: 1 year (required)
  • Machine Setup: 2 years (required)
