Desktop Support Technicians specifically needed for Contract to Hire positions in Portland, ME

The role of Desktop Support Technicians entails being full-time onsite at a customer site and performing the following responsibilities:

Provide daily desktop support, handle inbound calls, troubleshoot and document steps taken to resolve hardware, software, and application challenges within a ticketing system.
Facilitate customer issue resolution, involve supervisors and managers to ensure operational consistency within the IT Support Center.
Offer Break Fix and fault diagnosis services.
Provide fault analysis for various operating systems and platforms, as well as desktop fault resolution for approved applications.
The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years' experience in Windows Desktop support.

Position Responsibilities and Functions:

Offer first/second level issue resolution for customers.
Collaborate with Third Party Vendors for complex AV issues.
Provide timely updates on issue status and resolution.
Update tickets for all reported incidents.
Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot various operating systems and applications.
Understand Mac operating systems to assist Apple pc users.
Install, upgrade, troubleshoot printers and computer hardware.
Perform general maintenance on computers, laptops, and printers.
Carry out repairs on Desktops, laptops, printers, and authorized peripheral equipment.
Utilize diagnostic tools for network connectivity and workstation troubleshooting.
Have broad IT experience.
Working in a project-based environment, requires flexibility and teamwork.

Candidate Requested Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or higher.
Minimum of 18 months IT experience.
Knowledge in Windows, Active Directory, GPOs, MS Office 365, PC hardware, anti-virus solutions, Helpdesk systems.
Mobile device and enterprise encryption management, Windows PC/laptop management via Active Directory.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Adaptable and flexible in a changing work environment.
Willingness to work off-hours and weekends when necessary.
Working hours: 8AM - 5PM, Monday to Friday.
