POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of a Deputy Executive Director, the Director of Teens & Young Adults Services will be responsible for direct oversight of Education, College Access and Readiness, Technology, Recreation, and Civic Engagement for approximately 200 teens and young adults, between the ages of 13-24, with a primary focus on programming for high school age youth year olds).

This position will be responsible for directing a team, budget preparation, assessment and evaluation of programs, contractual compliance, as well as the development and implementation of responses to community needs.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BA in Education, Social Work, Higher Education or related field with minimum 4-5 years of educational, career readiness support with teens (ages in a community center/non-profit setting. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus. A MA degree is a plus.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Design, implement and assess educational, college and career readiness curriculum
  • Create and execute an outreach and special events plan that engages youth in the community; increase and maintain participation in our services and programs
  • Assist in the development and ensure proper oversight of budgets
  • Manage workskills related programming including Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) and Work Progress Program (WPP).
  • Maintain compliance with regulations including HRA, DYCD and all other relevant stakeholders
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate staff, and identify/support continued professional development
  • Hire and manage external contractor and vendors to provide relevant programming
  • Create and enhance collaborations/partnerships with the agency's various internal programs, schools, local service providers, cultural institutions and civic groups to help meet the needs and interests of current and potential participants
  • Collaborate with internal Hudson Guild departments to identify measurable targets and goals for your program, and ensure processes are in place to collect and submit data in a timely manner to meet funder and organizational requirements
  • Engage in ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) to evaluate program data, determine strengths and areas for improvement and execute action steps to make improvements
  • Collaborate with, assist in and do outreach at all Community Building activities to build and maintain external and internal partnerships that can benefit both participants and community members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Travel between multiple sites consisting of schools, offices, and community center environments and other locations such as trips with participants.

Available to work evenings and some weekends.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires constant communication with participants and co-workers; exchange accurate information in these situations. Frequent operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as phone and copy machines. Occasionally lift up to 25lbs, standing for long periods, as well as remain stationary for long periods.
