Infant Assistant Teacher - Chicago, United States - Rainforest West loop

Rainforest in the West loop is looking for an Assistant teacher for our infant classroom. This position would be from 8:30-5:30PM with an hour lunch break. We may also have some part time positions available. All staff must be able to work a consistent schedule Monday-Friday.

Rainforest is an arts based child care center focused on the creative development of children ages 6 weeks - 6 years.

The position responsibilities consist of assisting the lead teacher in projects, learning activities, classroom management and following the daily schedule such as passing out snack, play time, outdoor time, etc.

Requirements for this position are:

• Experience working with infants/toddlers (feeding, diapers etc.)
• Dependability (you will be relied on to always be present for a consistent schedule)
• Background in Education is not a requirement, but it is a huge plus.

Duties:

• Participate in positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in children
• Provide individualized attention and support to each child
• Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and respectful learning environment
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to support each child's learning journey
• Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents as needed
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and other relevant documentation

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one years of experience working with infants/toddlers
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices
• Experience working in a classroom or daycare setting
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children
