Pace University, Pleasantville campus is searching for two Graduate Interns to work as Orientation Coordinators for the Summer of 2024.

The Orientation Coordinators will support our in-person, overnight orientation program sessions.

We are excited to continue hosting Graduate Interns and are committed to your learning and development during your time with us.

Orientation Coordinators will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of in-person, first-year orientation, transfer orientation, and family orientation programs for over 500 total students and their family members.

In addition, they will implement Orientation Leader Training and staff development; acquire experience in assisting with the development, planning, and implementation of a campus-wide orientation program inclusive of developing a training program; and strengthen mentoring/supervisory skills.

Orientation Coordinators will develop competencies in leadership, time management, interpersonal relationships, collaboration, effective communication, multicultural competency, self-awareness, group dynamics, and event planning.

Duties include:


  • Directly supervise and evaluate Orientation Leaders and Orientation Office Staff
  • Manage and implement Orientation Leader training schedule and staff development, including the delivery of developmental presentations and activities
  • Host and manage inperson student overnight Orientation programming
  • Serve in an oncall capacity for Orientation program participants within the residence halls
  • Assist with management of Orientation registration by utilizing Slate enrollment system
  • Coordinate endofsummer celebration and staff recognition
  • Implement Orientation program assessment and evaluations
  • Develop team bonding and motivation practices for all Orientation staff
  • Collaborate with Programming Board to create Week of Welcome programming calendar
  • Utilize Student Engagement social media account throughout the summer
  • Learn about Gallup Clifton Strengths and your Top 5 Strengths; possible opportunity to facilitate student Strengths sessions
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, such as informational interviews and meetings with campus partners and student affairs professionals from other institutions

Orientation Program Dates:

First Year Student Orientations

June 27th

  • 28th
July 10th - 11th

July 15th - 16th

July 24th

  • 25th
Transfer Orientation

July 22nd


Compensation:
$4500 stipend (before taxes), paid out semi-monthly.
