Description
This role requires a high level of professionalism as this individual is the first person all visitors encounter.

Will be responsible for controlling access and assisting with security of facility in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring facility residents and visitors are aware of and adhere to facility policies and procedures.

Will work under the direction of Site Facility Manager and onsite team managers.

This position will have structured work hours to align with facility operations; Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day with a 30-to-60-minute unpaid lunch.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Control access and security of facility reception area
  • Professionally manage all front desk responsibilities with greeting visitors, ensuring visit request requirements are met, and accurately maintaining visitor logs and muster sheets
  • Ensure all visitors are made aware of and adhere to facility standard operating procedures and building policies.
  • Manage facility seating for visitors ensuring all work areas have functional, working IT connections and visitors have the resources required
  • Monitor and manage maintenance of facility by identifying and submitting all building maintenance work requests and tracking through resolution
  • Manage various spreadsheets efficiently and provide weekly and monthly reports capturing details on all facility maintenance items and/or issues of concern for onsite management and Government Site Manager
  • Assist all vendors and service providers required to access the facility for deliveries of product and/or services
  • Maintain and post current Security, Safety, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Environmental, and emergency, disaster, and civil requirements
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating conference rooms for team meetings and ensure proper signage for meeting attendees are in place
  • Maintain and routinely distribute point of contact list for all Waterfront Support Team members
  • Provide general office administrative support for waterfront team members and all visitors
  • Provide daily, weekly, or monthly reports to BAE Systems management and waterfront management
  • Provide other administrative tasking in support of project/program requirements
The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $32.87/hr.

This position is located in Norfolk, VA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Norfolk or surrounding areas.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High School Diploma and at least 1 year of related work experience

Ability to interface positively with a diverse population

Ability to work independently and proactively in providing professional high quality support


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Prior experience in customer service roles


Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA).

The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
