LF Markets USA, a division of Li & Fung, has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Designer to join their Womenswear Private Label Team.

The Associate Designer executes the seasonal design development process, from concept to delivery, by creating and executing original, trend-appropriate design concepts that meet market needs and drive sales and ensuring the timely execution of each stage in the process.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support Design Manager in the research of trends, market information and competitive analysis.
  • Assemble presentation boards for meetings with the guidance of the Designers.
  • Responsible for creating and up keeping an efficient fabric and trim library.
  • Create detailed flat sketches and revise line sheets when necessary.
  • In charge of all follow ups regarding fabric and trim research through overseas communication.
  • Track all sample request charts to ensure timely shipment.
  • When necessary, assist in the edit of any relevant prints.
  • Organize all components needed for a presentation.
  • Must have a sense of urgency and manage requests, deadlines and workload in the most efficient way.
  • Participate in internal and clientfacing fittings, taking detailed notes to ensure precise documentation of design specifications and requirements
  • Start and update all charts relevant to their department and development.
  • Organizing supplies for Design department including Pantone and CSI orders.
  • Strong eye and aesthetic for trend imagery/research and color forecasting
  • Strong interest in Women's Contemporary brands and trends
  • Communicate with oversees team in relation to product development of protos and samples
  • Ordering or returning any samples as needed.

  • Able to strike an efficient balance between being meticulous and timelines.
  • Focused on deadlines and ready to do what is needed to achieve goal without constant direction or supervision.
  • Organized in all aspects of their job.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience in 3D Browzwear or other similar 3D programs is a plus
  • Eager to learn new technologies and different approaches to problem solving.
  • Able to keep a focused and efficient attitude under pressure.
  • Maintain a high level of professionality in all settings.
  • Able to switch focus between different categories from Outerwear to Ready to Wear.
  • Positive attitude towards achieving result regardless of needs.
  • Able to work independently without constant supervision or redirection

Compensation/Benefits:

  • The approximate annual base salary range for this position is $70, $75, The offered salary or salary range for this position will vary based on role requirements, skill set and years of experience.
