Description
NetSEA Technologies is in search of a Chief Scientist to bolster support for PEO C3T Tactical Network systems. Clearance Level: US Citizen with active Top Secret clearance preferred
Location: Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD
Hours: Monday – Friday, normal business hours
Hybrid Eligible: Yes, subject to agency policy
Travel: Up to 25%
Roles/Responsibilities:
As a Chief Scientist, you will leverage your expertise to:
Execute electronics engineering processes, procedures, and best practices.
Provide engineering expertise for activities such as development, testing, evaluation, training, and configuration management in support of acquisition programs.
Offer engineering support focused on the transport and networking architecture for current and future tactical network capabilities.
Participate in design reviews and conduct thorough technical evaluations and assessments of network performance and architectures, including risk assessments and integration strategies.
Support Capability Set (CS) and Integrated Tactical Network (ITN) activities.
Provide technical support to evaluate and integrate new technologies for communications modernization.
Collaborate effectively with organizations including PEO C3T, other PMs and PdMs, ACM, and other Army-wide stakeholders to coordinate interoperability considerations.
Review and comprehend acquisition documentation (e.g., mission needs statements, operational needs statements, ICDs, CDDs, CPDs, technical specifications, etc.) for Army tactical communications electronics and translate requirements to develop technical solutions that are standards-based and cost-efficient.
Review Government performance work statements and contractor proposals for technical accuracy and compliance with requirements.
Requirements:
Masters in engineering, testing, or related field
Minimum 15+ years of related tactical network engineering experience (software/network, Satellite, RF engineering), including at least 5 years at the PEO/PM level with Tactical Network.
Experience in network engineering, designing and implementing LANs or VLANs, routing protocols, multicast, routing configurations, IPv4/IPv6 addressing, network protocol analysis using tools such as Sniffer or Wireshark, VMware, commercial communications equipment, transport and network architectures, end-to-end network design and performance, voice/data transmission and backbone networks, and RF engineering.
Ability to effectively communicate and lead integrated project teams.
Ability to provide independent and professional support on portions of complex projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Obtain within 6 months: active DoD 8570/8140 level two baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security). Also, certifications relevant to the systems you will use (e.g., VMWare, Cisco devices, etc.).
Knowledge of Army organization structure and Unit Task Organization concepts.
