Description

The Editorial Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the successful, timely, and cost-effective publication of peer-reviewed, scholarly nursing journals and other publications in print and digital formats.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the daytoday tasks of developing and producing scholarly journals, as well as with journal promotional items.
  • Coordinate correspondence, solicit authors, maintain manuscript review process, and answer queries.
  • Adhere to production schedules and work within publication budgets.
  • Assist with some copy editing and proofing of selected publications.
  • Complete permission requests and copyrighting of published material.
  • Participate in editorial board meetings and other necessary duties within the scope of these responsibilities.
  • Work closely with editors, managing editors, associate managing editors, clinical editors, editorial boards, manuscript reviewers, authors, and potential authors, as well as association leaders, to ensure highquality content.
  • Interact and work well with staff assigned to association clients, as well as with art, advertising, and fulfillment departments, to coordinate and fit the many pieces of the publication puzzle together in a timely and costefficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 3 years of experience an office setting, with editorial or publishing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Exceptional editing, grammar, and punctuation skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Writing samples are encouraged.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and ability to communicate with a wide range of people within the larger AJJ, Inc. corporate team adhering to the company hierarchy and outside the organization.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and adhere to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in APA style (7th edition).
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of/experience with nursing and/or health carerelated publications a plus.

$23.00 per hour
