Summary:


The Executive Support Lead will lead strategic and complex projects as well as the day-to-day activities for the dynamic office of the Senior Vice President and Dean of Research.

The Lead sets the tone of the Office of the SVP.

Responsibilities encompass a wide range of critical tasks, such as cultivating constructive and meaningful relationships with stakeholders, conducting effective stakeholder engagement, overseeing projects that drive research progress, and promoting internal and external continuity for the College.

These duties are essential to ensuring the College's continued success and maintaining a positive reputation within the academic and professional communities.


Job Duties:


  • Manage the Senior Vice President (SVP) and Dean of Research's portfolio of complex projects and initiatives spanning one or multiple business lines.
  • Oversee the organization and execution of the SVP's daily calendar. Brief the SVP on a routine basis.
  • Support the SVP to balance internal and external priorities and participate in business meetings and events as a representative of the SVP; follow up on issues and concerns addressed to the SVP, including those sensitive or confidential.
  • Produce information, presentations, materials, and reports for use in discussions and meetings with BCM executive leaders, executive mission staff, committees, task forces, and external stakeholders; Ensure the SVP is prepared for meetings and events.
  • Compose and finalize complex correspondence, action plans, and otherformat documents; Review project plans, proformas, reports, and other material and provide an executive summary as needed.
  • Develop, manage, and lead the cadence of SVP executive meetings, missionwide events, and training. Oversee the planning of collegewide events, seminars, and workshops; and coordinate external guest visitors hosted by the SVP.
  • Support the SVP to ensure effective communication exchange with internal and external stakeholders in coordination with the Mission Communications Lead and Baylor College of Medicine Communications.
  • Serve as the administrative liaison to the research community, respond to requests from internal and external constituents, and coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies.
  • Assist the SVP and other senior leaders with mission problemsolving.
  • Serve on or lead missionwide project teams and serve on or lead mission committees.
  • Responsible for one direct report.
  • Performs other job duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Six years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree.
