Compensation Range:
$118,000-$151,200

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.


Job Purpose:


The Motive Power Global Director Variant Configuration Material Creation reports to the Vice President of Global Product Management Motive Power and is responsible for the development, execution, and improvement of the regional responsibilities for the Variant Configurator (VC) and Material Creation.

In other words, it will be the responsibility of you and your team to be an integral part of the order to cash process by quickly and efficiently creating new products in the VC and aiding the speedy processing of orders.

You will work with the Application Engineering Team and Product Management on material creation and complexities of such activities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead the Motive Power VC team in providing global VC engineering activities in the following key areas:
  • Assist in the development, direction, review, and approval of new product designs and changes as requested by Sales, Application Engineering, and Product Management.
  • Develop and update product specifications and drawings utilizing assigned CAD personnel or working through the appropriate cross functional teams like Application Engineering or Global Engineering.
  • Collaborate very closely with IT on Data Governance, Material Data, and SAP as well as other ERP systems like Baan.
  • Collaborate closely with the PLM on product lifecycle needs, product approvals, change management, and material creation.
  • Foster an agile environment so that engineers, designers, and researchers can build products in an innovative and iterative manner.
  • Identify and incorporate meaningful product enhancements and tools with the VC.
  • Facilitate rapid time to market without sacrificing product quality or manufacturing.
  • Organize and construct your team to effectively meet the longterm goals of the organization including standardizing VC processes in SAP globally.
  • Ability to be the primary representative for EnerSys within professional associations.
  • Exhibit ability to solve practical problems in situations where only limited information exists.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
  • Prioritize ruthlessly, justifying how you went about prioritizing.
  • Work closely with configuration management to support new parts creation or sustaining existing products by implementing changes and overseeing postproduction activities. Such activities may require the development of simple electrical schematics.
  • Works closely with Purchasing department in regards of costing of newly purchased parts to be available in the system.
  • Support the Plant VAC (Value Add) in any requested product deviation or support production of new parts / product introduction.
  • Understanding systems including SAP, BaaN, Windchill, Solidworks, etc.
  • Involved in supporting BOM creation for new products or modification of existing and its implementation in company's ERP system in conjunction with Engineering and Purchasing.
  • Involved in supporting activities for the implementation of new parts or modification of existing in the company's Variable Configurator in conjunction with SAP / IT teams.

Qualifications:


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, physics, or similar).
  • Minimum 15 years experience in battery systems or related field; Indepth experience with battery design, manufacturing, and testing preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • In depth knowledge of global regulatory standards applicable to industrial electric vehicles, batteries, and chargers.
  • Time management and ability to multitask while interacting with crossfunctional teams.
  • Planning and coordinating tasks; Good initiative and selfdrive motivation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; Good verbal, technical writing, and presentation skills needed.
  • Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills; Details oriented.
  • Proven ability to lead and work in cross functional, multidisciplinary teams in a matrix environment completing complex projects with demanding timelines and expectations.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English.
  • Spanish, French, or Portuguese proficiency is desirable.
