    Job Description

    Success Academy's Public Affairs team works to advance K-12 public education reform and policies that support charter schools and student achievement both locally and nationally. Working with our parent communities to engage their elected officials, we advocate to ensure that NYC public charter schools have equitable resources to remain strong and continue to deliver the high-quality education children need to achieve their dreams. We now need a results-driven Lead of Advocacy to join our Public Affairs team.

    Reporting to the Head of Advocacy, the Lead, Advocacy will play a critical role in the success of SA's school-based elected engagement and parent advocacy program. This position works collaboratively with a small team of grassroots associates and helps set the goals, communications, and logistics for all advocacy-related initiatives with the overall goal of expanding access to charter schools and parent choice.

    Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with the team to set a strategy for our advocacy initiatives.
  • Managing and executing our grassroots elected and community engagement.
  • Ensuring the efficacy and successful implementation of all mobilizations (rallies, press conferences, public hearings, and digital action ) and meeting participation goals.
  • Developing inspirational and motivational Advocacy educational and training materials for parents and school/network staff.
  • Responsible for continuous, critical improvements to the program.

    A successful applicant will have the following experiences and education:
    Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4-6 years of full-time work experience in advocacy and/or government relations work.

    Compensation Range

    : $140, $
