Job Summary


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct DNA nanostructures displaying organic smallmolecules and characterizes them biochemically and cell biologically.
  • Assist with building research databases, and builds competence in research techniques or methods, related to immunology, cell culture, imaging.
  • Analyze and maintains data and/or specimens, and conducts literature reviews.
  • Install, sets up and performs experiments under PI supervision.
  • Interact with students and other laboratory staff to conduct research.
  • Assist with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents for research presentations.
  • Understand and up tp date with background scientific literature regarding their projects.
  • This job provides technical and administrative support in a laboratory environment performing basic laboratory techniques, research and analysis under direction.
  • Provides routine or standardized laboratory duties by collecting data in support of research projects under direct supervision.
  • Collects and enters data. Assists in analysis of data and with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications


Education:


Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).


  • Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related field.

Experience:


  • Experience in biological chemistry, ion channel function, or multiparameter flow cytometry.
  • Experience with handling and breeding mice and related genotyping of strains.
  • Experience with ELISA, qRTPCR, and cell culture.
  • Basic lab skills including pipetting, buffer/reagents preparation.


Preferred Competencies- Knowledge in relevant scientific field.- Knowledge of research techniques or methods relevant to the lab (preparation of DNA nanodevices, running SDS-PAGE gels, live-imaging approaches to cell biological problems, intracellular traffic, i.e., mechanisms of endocytosis or exocytosis).- Detail-oriented and well organized.- Follow written and verbal instructions and execute assignments.- Work independently, seeking clarification and guidance where needed.- Demonstrates critical thinking and an aptitude for continuous learning, especially with regard to complex instrumentation and techniques.- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to a changing work environment.- Strong communication skills, including the ability to ask questions and provide updates on work progress sufficient technical detail.
