A Non-Merit vacancy exists in the Bureau of Adult Services, Department of Health and Human Services.

Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan.

Definition of Responsibility

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provides personal care and respite services to eligible clients unable to perform activities of daily living in order to maintain proper hygiene and quality of life in their home by using learned skills and following the care plan developed by the nurse and team.
  • Performs homemaking tasks such as laundry, change bed linens, shop for food, and prepare light meals.
  • Performs light housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming and mopping floors.
  • Prepares monthly written reports for supervisor and case manager on client's progress, changes in condition and environment, and hours and type of services provided in order to monitor effectiveness of service, and document services provided by using observational and trained skills
  • Participates in training, staff development, mandatory meetings, skill updates, and keeps informed of recent changes to update/enhance skills and improve job performance by selecting appropriate trainings.
  • Transports individuals to medical or community services.

EXAMPLE OF OTHER DUTIES:


  • Assess client's personal and living conditions
  • Develops positive relationships with clients in order to gain their acceptance of inhome care
  • Prepares reports for health care professionals, case managers and supervisors on the client's physical condition, social and physical environment

Qualifications:


Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

This position requires a valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification.
- **EXAMINATION PROCEDURE**
Conditions of Employment:Employees hired after July 1, 2022 are required to participate in the Baltimore County Employees' Retirement System, with very limited exceptions.


Medical Examination and Employment Background Investigation

Applicants selected for employment with Baltimore County must successfully complete a physical examination, drug screening and employment investigation, including, but not limited to criminal background, education certification and fingerprinting checks.
