- Designing and prototyping cartesian robot arms; designs related to robotics similar to 3D printers is a strong plus
- Investigating features to simplify robot construction, installation, and maintenance
- Conducting tests and experiments to validate your design concepts and ensure product performance and reliability
- Designing & redesigning components with manufacturability, simplicity, and modularity in mind
- Rapid prototyping utilizing mainly 3D printing
- Utilizing motion components such as stepper motors, pumps, solenoids, and linear actuators
- We are not considering relocation at this time and are looking for an immediate hire.
- This an onsite role. Candidates must be able to commute to Newark, NJ at least 4 days per week. We are located near a PATH and NJ Transit station.
- At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in robotics or automation.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software
- Previous experience in small startups
- Experience with machine shop tools and prototyping equipment (CNC machines, milling machines, drill presses, chop saws, laser cutters, etc.)
- Experience with injection mold design and/or sheet metal design
- Familiarity with Design For Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA)
- Familiarity with FEA tools
- Experience working in the retail healthcare industry
