- Architectural Leadership: Lead the architectural design and implementation efforts for migrating our solution set towards a microservices architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Technology Strategy: In conjunction with the Vice President, Engineering oversee, improve and communicate a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with business objectives, outlining the ongoing roadmap for modernization and migration.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the seniormost developers and architects, irrespective of reporting structure. Lead through inspiration and empathy.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of microservices architecture into the overall product roadmap.
- Technical Excellence: Drive technical excellence and best practices across the architecture and development teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with the modernization journey, ensuring timely delivery and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage third-party vendors and technologies to support the modernization journey, ensuring alignment with architectural principles and business requirements.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of the modernized architecture, leveraging tools and techniques to enhance scalability and efficiency.
- Proven experience (10+ years) as a Lead Architect or similar leadership role, with a focus on .NET and SQL Server technologies.
- Proven track record of execution in a technical context.
- Experience working with team members in both onshore and offshore environments, including India.
- Extensive experience architecting and implementing microservices-based solutions in a cloud environment (preferably AWS).
- Strong proficiency in software development methodologies, tools, and frameworks, with hands-on experience in .NET Framework, .NET Core, C#, and SQL Server.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Prior experience of working in a company held by a private equity investor is highly desirable.

Lead Architect - .NET and SQL Server Web Application (Microservices Migration)
As part of our ambitious expansion plans, we are seeking a seasoned Lead Architect to spearhead the migration of a complex monolithic system comprised of web applications and Windows services to a modern, microservices-based architecture. Crucially, the broad strokes of the plan are already defined. We are looking for someone who can jump in, get up to speed and guide the project forward, interacting with stakeholders such as the Director of SaaS Operations (a peer) and Vice President of Engineering (who you will report to). This role will require a flexible mindset, and while it won't initially have direct reports this is something that could change in time. The successful candidate will implicitly understand and model the perspectives that there is a time for debating and a time for doing, and that the perfect is the enemy of the good.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an execution-oriented Lead Architect with extensive experience in .NET and SQL Server technologies, coupled with a strong background in architecting and implementing microservices-based solutions out of existing monolithic code. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, a strategic mindset, a bias for action and a passion for driving technological innovation.
