Description
The
Accounting Associate is responsible for the accurate and timely payment of all invoices. Working in tandem with staff accountants, they ensure accurate coding of invoices and maintain proper documentation for vendor files. The Accounting Associate also organizes records and files, making bank deposits to ensure timely and proper payments to vendors, while keeping files easily accessible and up-to-date


What you have already achieved:

  • Degree in Accounting preferred
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Highly organized with the ability to efficiently and accurately manage multiple projects
  • Ability to complete tasks on time with mínimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven abilities in researching and resolving problems
  • Ability and desire to work in a collaborative, dynamic environment
  • Strong desire to improve a process in order to complete tasks more efficiently

What you are great at:
(Responsibilities)


  • Process accounts payable using AppFolio accounting systems.
  • Process all invoices promptly to ensure receipt of payment before the due date.
  • Consistently followthrough to ensure timely approval of DLP invoices.
  • Proactively monitor payment due dates to ensure payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Verify accuracy of all vendor invoices and proper DLP approvals.
  • Accurately identify the correct company and property.
  • Accurately select and code the appropriate general ledger account.
  • Maintain vendor files ensuring proper name, address and W9 documentation.
  • Mail and distribute payments.
  • Maintain organized records and paid bill files.
  • Research of historical payments, ledgers and balances as needed.
  • Research check backup to verify payments as needed.
  • Special projects and various analysis work as may be requested.
  • Assist Accounting Managers, Controller, and Senior Accountants.
  • Inform management of all deviations from instructions before taking unilateral action.
  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks may be required from time to time quite often on short notice as directed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality for all company financial information.
