Essential Duties
  • Instructional Supports & Service Delivery 75%
  • Provide additional instruction for English Language Development to English Learners (ELs) within or outside the classroom, tailored to different program types
  • Deliver English language development instruction for EL students in sheltered environments/newcomers
  • Establish regular communication with Bilingual Resource Specialists to address student needs
  • Contribute to creating inclusive environments and supporting EL student inclusion in instructional settings
  • Collaborate with Multilingual Services and Programs staff for coordinated service delivery
  • Participate in student placement and scheduling in compliance with state and federal ESL service laws
  • Assist in acquiring culturally relevant materials and support academic planning for ELs
  • Partake in Student Support and Intervention Teams to ensure culturally responsive practices
  • Contribute assessment support including English language proficiency tests
  • Collaborate with non-ESL staff to provide assessment support to ELs
  • Offer professional learning to colleagues on content-related language growth
  • Support teachers in using English Language Development observation tools
  • Coordinate with School Testing Coordinators for EL testing accommodations
