Description

Saint Timothy Catholic School is looking to add a dynamic educator to their team for the coming school year: Applicants must have a passion for working with children and a devout love of the Catholic faith.

A degree in special education and background in the field is preferred.

Requirements:

- passion for working with children, teachers and families in a faith community
- commitment to ensuring students receive the individualized support needed to be successful
- professionalism and sensitivity when handling confidential matters, maintained focus on the God-given dignity of each child
- willingness to avoid complacency and to try new practices

Duties and Responsibilities:

- consult with classroom teachers about identified individual students to increase access to curriculum and consider potential barriers to learning
- coordinate and lead meetings with families and teachers to address student needs
- create, evaluate and renew written plans to include classroom accommodations, learning goals, intervention strategies and data collection
- collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff and administration to ensure plans are being implemented effectively
- coordinate accommodations implemented outside of the learning environment (such as read aloud assessments or pull-out instruction)
- coordinate accommodations provided by outside professionals during school hours (such as visiting speech, occupational or educational therapies)
- oversee documentation and provide progress updates to families and attend parent/teacher conferences
- attend IEP meetings
