Job Summary:


Building Maintenance Technicians use their skills to assist and perform a wide variety of routine and preventive maintenance tasks, and support the 24-hour lodging operations at the Hunter Mountain Resort.

This position will introduce you to system maintenance, new construction, modifications, and remodeling relating to property management, short term rentals, and lodging operations.

This position frequently requires team members to interact with guests and team members from other departments.

The nature of the business requires team members to be spatially aware of their surroundings and exemplify the Vail Resorts Core Values and hospitality decorum.

Full Time

  • Hours: 3:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m. or 11:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m.

Responsibilities:

Performs maintenance tasks as assigned by manager on a regular and rotating basis.

These include but are not limited to:
Sanitary Pipework

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining building sanitary systems
Mechanical Services

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining limited HVAC systems and components
  • Addressing elevator Issues
Gas Equipment

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining limited components of propane gas fireplaces and outdoor heaters
Safety Equipment

  • Installing, troubleshooting, and testing of gas detecting, smoke detecting, and fire extinguishing equipment
Communication and Electronic Equipment

  • Installing, repairing, maintaining, and replacing televisions, phones, and supporting equipment.
Building Maintenance

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining floors and surfaces to appearance and cosmetic quality standards.
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining kitchen appliances, living area, and bedroom furniture.
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining bathroom equipment including baths, showers, and toilets.
  • Reset screen, shower and closet doors
  • Inspection of condition of units
  • Provides insight into inventory of replacement parts, supplies and hardware.
  • Assists in development of programs of regular preventive maintenance for all equipment.
  • Requires problem solving and initiation of less clearly defined job activities. May make relatively complex decisions about materials and equipment.
  • Communicate with other departments to complete work orders in a timely fashion.
  • Complete paperwork/electronic paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Guest pre checkin inspections prior to guest arrivals (make sure lights are working, heat is on, catch any issues, etc.)
  • Guest Departure inspections (doors locked, lights off, heat off, trash removed etc.) as needed
  • Create Work Order requests by reporting any major repairs needed to Building Maintenance.
  • Linen bag pick up in overall rental areas including condos as needed.
  • Delivery services for guest amenities and general items as needed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary for guest service
  • Maintains a friendly and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Maintain all facilities and operation systems in a safe and efficient working order (i.e. auto doors, exit doorways, required snow/garbage removal)
  • Perform daily rounds check boilers, pools, common areas, sprinkler systems, fire pump room, fire panels, etc.
  • Clean resort facilities according to applicable guidance and standards, working with a team or independently.
  • Work with site staff to ensure that cleaning tools and supplies are adequately stocked.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
