Overall Position Summary and Objectives

  • The purpose of this position is to advise and assist the government Project Officer with a large $100M+ construction project. The advisor will provide recommendations and solutions to the Project Officer on issues encountered during the construction of this new building. The advisor will also work as a liaison between the Project Officer and clients to resolve issues and make sure the clients' needs are met.

Work Details:


  • Provide broad support of the Institute's agenda, including strategic and tactical activities, and executivelevel interfacing

  • Provide input on complex inquiries

  • Provide recommendations for internal management, risk assessment and deployment of assets

  • Establish reporting system to ensure that timely notification is provided to the government representative of any deviation from original budget or schedule

  • Review budget spreadsheets and answer questions related to the budget

  • Provides executive experience needed to conduct needs assessments and develop recommendations for improvements to current operations.
  • Provide analyses, evaluations, technical assessments, feedback, and support in the planning and implementation of activities.
  • Provide advisory services on a full range of issues relating to the constructability of a $100M+ building project.
  • Plan and implement solutions to address gaps and improve performance related to management of construction projects and programs.
  • Collaborates with other professionals to develop recommendations for current and future initiatives.
  • Work with staff to draft Statements of Work (SOWs) and Performance Work Statements (PWSs).
  • Respond to client inquiries in consultation with staff.
  • Provide advice on emerging issues affecting the constructability of a major project.
  • Advises management and staff on formulation of new strategies and sensitive or complicated issues.
  • Works with staff to develop and implement new and proactive programs geared to specific audiences.
  • Establish reporting system to ensure that timely notification is provided to the government representative of any deviation from original budget or schedule

  • Conducts research and analysis to proactively address and respond to inquiries on various policies and issues.
  • Coordinates and advances professional development and research done by others in areas where other mechanisms may not be optimal due to time constraints or other issues.
