Duties

• You will disassemble and reassemble equipment to make repairs or replace circuit boards, sensors, controllers, encoders, or conveyors.
• You will install, maintain, repair, modify, and test security alarm systems for facilities.
• You will troubleshoot electronic systems, components, or devices using research manuals, blueprints, or diagrams to plan method of repair.
• You will perform analysis on system failures to determine troubleshooting procedures and data corrections.
• You will use electronic amplifiers, processors, filters, bridges, or other electronic devices to transform electro-acoustical, electro-mechanical, or electro-optical devices into digital signals.
• You will use test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, transistor tester, logic comparator, volt-ohm meter, special purpose test set) to install and repair electronic equipment

Requirements Conditions of Employment

1) Utilizing building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineer drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the routing of equipment and controls; 2) Determining and installing wiring, conduit, transformers and other electrical devices in the size, type, and arrangement needed for proper and safe operation of electrical alarm systems and equipment
3) Installing, maintaining, and testingvarious security alarm systems

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS :
Must have the ability to climb 20 to 50 feet to hangar ceilings and roofs
Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up items weighting up to 40 pounds
Occasionally may lift items weighing over 40 pounds with assistance or weight handling equipment


WORKING CONDITIONS :
Work is performed in unlighted, unheated and enclosed areas
Works both indoors and outdoors and is usually dirty or dusty, in all kinds of weather
