KEY DETAILS TO NOTE:


Responsible for overseeing and implementing American Red Cross services to cater to the requirements of U.S. military members, veterans, and their families following Red Cross policies and regulations.

Also accountable for managing and administering American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) and International Services (IS) U.S.

programs like International Humanitarian Law (IHL), Youth Action Campaign (YAC), and Restoring Family Links (RFL) within their designated area. this is achieved through volunteer management and collaboration with other Red Cross divisions.

Building Relationships and Engaging with the Community:
Acts as the representative of the Red Cross at the specified location.

  • Establishes strong ties with military leadership, key organizations, and community influencers.
  • Nurtures relationships and alliances with external stakeholders in the local community, such as governmental bodies, corporate entities, civic groups, and other charitable organizations with the aim of advancing the Red Cross mission. Outreach activities include command gatherings, educational sessions, presentations, and information dissemination
  • Amplifies community presence by maximizing marketing opportunities with the local Armed Forces Network, utilizing social media platforms, and making use of base advertising options to promote the Red Cross Mission and its services.

Overseeing Volunteer Operations:

Manages a volunteer engagement strategy and process to facilitate the execution of all Red Cross programs and services on a military base and within the community.

Supervises Volunteers who play a key role in providing American Red Cross services to address the needs of U.S. military members, veterans, and their families in compliance with Red Cross protocols. In the absence of volunteers, the manager is tasked with delivering mission-specific services.

  • Develops and executes a local needs assessment and Volunteer Program Plan by following the established process by Volunteer Resources.
  • Recruits and trains volunteer leaders to oversee the placement and management of staff and programs in delivering SAF/IS U.S. programs and services, Training Services, Disaster Cycle Services, and supporting Armed Forces Blood Services.
  • Effectively leverages the Volunteer Connection Platform for volunteer management, documentation, training, recognition, and communication within the local area.

Managing Service Delivery:
Guarantees the consistent provision of SAF and IS U.S. services to all clients within the assigned region.

  • Supervises volunteer Service Delivery personnel.
  • Coordinates services to military healthcare facilities and VA hospitals through rehabilitation initiatives, material aid, resilience training, morale support, and supplies.
  • Conducts community outreach activities, including command meetings, educational sessions, presentations, and workshops
  • Establishes a robust military community outreach program and executes special events and projects in support of SAF/IS U.S. initiatives.
